ECHA's recently published CMR report showed that companies are adhering well to the harmonised classification of substances with carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic (CMR) properties. The report also identified over a thousand other substances self-classified as CMRs by industry that potentially merit further regulatory action.

It defines a category of particularly dangerous chemical substances in their pure state, which alone or in mixtures can cause harmful effects to humans.
